Journeyman Cancelled - for now
By funkn • Dec 19th, 2007 • Category: TelevisionKorbi Ghosh, a reporter for E Entertainment News is reporting that Journeyman has been cancelled due to the WGA Strike and it probably won’t return anytime soon.
That’s unfortunate - another show pushed into mediocracy by money hungry network executives. Who wants to place money on the next NBC show to get flushed?

It is sad that another good show with a loyal following has to suffer cancellation. It seems to be a trend in American TV these days. What we are really seeing is the death throes of the “big network†systems. What we as viewers and they as the content creators need is a new way to receive programming. If I was given a choice I would pay a fee to watch more episodes of Journeyman (Firefly, Jericho, Surface, Rome, Deadwood, Please add more of your favorites that have been canceled seemingly arbitrarily)
What I am talking about is a new business model. There has got to be a better way to run this business. The reason the writers are on strike is because the fathead suits make all the money and they the writers don’t get a percentage. Why can’t we subscribe for specific show? There is already subscription content out there. (things like Red Vs Blue) Why don’t the studios look into this and offer the public a chance to vote with our dollars directly instead of using an outdated, highly flawed and technologically incomplete method to measure how well a show is doing. That way the “networks†could quietly die over in the corner and the viewing public could receive quality content. Personally I would like to see Advertisement removed from something I must endure as the price of enjoying entertainment.
